GATE Village creates Trusted Neighbourhoods; communities that are created based upon the skills, regions, and vertical markets of existing members. The first of these is http://www.livelink-experts.com, a community created to allow independent people and companies to interact, collaborate, and promote themselves and their capabilities both to other members and to the public at large.

http://www.livelink-experts.com/ is not affilated with Open Text Corporation, though individual members may well be. Each self-described expert creates a special content type called "a Livelink expert bio" which allows both the classification of skills, products, and product groups associated with each expert and the ability to add free-form HTML and text to allow each member to express themselves. All community members, both free and subscription-based, are encouraged to create a "Livelink expert bio" page.

Livelink Experts are provided with personalized web addresses of the form http://username.livelink-experts.com/ and personalized email addresses (should they so desire) of the form username@livelink-experts.com. They are allowed to utilize the e-commerce features of the community, allowing for paid access to certain content or simply providing the opportunity to gather user information before downloading specific collateral. Livelink Experts are also allowed to utilize the advertising system to promote themselves and their business to the community at large.
