GATE Trust RATING Explained

A GATE Village. A Business Transaction can be many things, it might be:

  • An entry in the Opportunity Knocks auction

  • A GATE Member Services interaction

  • Any Member-registered transaction

There are at least 2 parties to a transaction, though there may be more. The parties may be Trusted Experts, Trusted Entrepreneurs, Trusted Vendors, and Clients of GATE RATING is one of three values:

  1. Trustworthy -- the party was true to their word and fairly represented themselves

  2. Minor Issues -- there was some discrepancy or minor misunderstanding indicating a less than perfectly fair representation of themselves and/or their business (for example, they were habitually late for meetings); the key word here is "minor"

  3. Untrustworthy -- their was some major discrepancies between the skills, capabilities, timelines, costs or other pertinent and/or important aspects of the representation and the delivery of the agreement. GATE Trust Policy signed and agreed to -- Members are reminded that it is a Breach of Trust to issue a false GATE Trust System can only work with complete honesty in rating and honesty will be enforced.

  • We may all love Uncle Ernie but we also know we just can't trust that he'll be home for dinner on time.

  • Bob's work may only be of average quality, but we can trust that he'll submit it in time.

  • You can trust Jane to always include references for her work, you don't even have to ask her, just as much as you can't trust Dave to include them.

  • Sonja is always ready to say the right thing but you can't trust her to implement according to her stated plan, she tends to do her own thing (which is, sometimes, the better idea)

  • We can trust Anika to stick to her stated plan no matter what gets in her way (even if the plans are not that good)
