Information Security Realms

By default, any Information Object within an Information Security Realm have the same access control setting, that is, the if somebody has been allowed access to one information object within a particular realm, they will (generally) be allowed access to any other information object within that realm. Information Security Realms are self-descriptive content types, for example:

  • Public, Public Event, Public Forum (the general public can view)
  • [business], [business] Event, [business] Forum where "business" is the chosen name of a Business Premium account or Trusted Neighbourhood created by an Entrepreneur (restricted to the named [business] / Trusted Neighbours)
  • Member, Member Event, Member Forum (GATE Village Members only)

Other Information Security Realms are possible, including ad-hoc realms created to share information with a small or potentially external group, though this advanced use is only available to our Virtual Office, Business Lite and Business Premium accounts.
