XMLSitemap
XMLSitemap is the name of the module that creates, populates, manages and submits each Trusted Neighbourhood specific sitemap.xml file. This file is used by most search engines to highlight parts of the web site being indexed and provide some direction to the web crawlers. This is important and useful technology because without it you rely upon the web crawler to (eventually) find the URL you are interested in AND it will treat all URLs with the same priority.
The sitemap adheres to the industry standard found at http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9/ and provides the following for all published content:
- Location (the URL)
- Last Modification timestamp
- An indication as to how often this content will change
- A priority between 0 ad 1 inclusive where 1 is the highest priority.
Most account holders will not have the ability to alter these values, however some administrative accounts may be able to override the default priority set for this content type.
